'GQ Maybe?'

Today is the last day of 2012, how crazy is that! I feel like this year has gone by so fast, but I've had some amazing times during this year. I can't wait to see what next year has in store for me and I'm happy I've finally began my blogging. So for the last day of the year, I was in a different mood when it came to how I was dressing for the day. I went for a more androgynous look as I just threw some pieces together from more wardrobe. This was my first time tying a tie so I had to go straight to youtube and I did pretty good if I say so myself for it being my first time. I'm still working on figuring out what my New Years resolutions will be, but I know this year I will be driven like no other, working to become one step closer to each of my goals. Hope you all have a great New Years Eve!

'Tiger Stripes'

I hope everyone is having a great weekend as the new year is quickly approaching! So far, I haven't been able to think of any New Years resolutions besides the same old lose a couple pounds, start working out again, blah blah. Today I decided I wanted to wear something simple, so I just threw something together using the simplicity of the colors black and white. I think that sometimes in life it's better to leave things in black and white instead of trying to mess it up with color.

My Favs

Its snowing so hard in Michigan right now! I’m sitting in my house finally being able to relax after spending 45 minutes driving a typically 15 minute drive home because of the terrible weather outside so I pray everyone is having safe travels. I returned to my laptop upon arrival home to check my email and I had received tonsss of emails from various stores and websites about their end of the season sales. Just so you know, I am a big online shopper, I prefer the convenience of shopping while relaxing in my bed.  So, I thought it would be a good time just to take out some time to share with you all some of my personal favorite stores/online shops. I think that each of these stores have something from everyone, ranging from classic cuts to more extravagant/unique finds that anyone could enjoy.  Here are my top 10 listed in no particular order:

1.    ASOS
I love this site because they have great clothes and a wide variety of things to chose from, I pretty much buy everything from this site. They truly have everything that you could be looking for and they always have a sale going on which allows you to get these looks for less.  Also, I like this site because they have free shipping, opposed to many other websites where you have to spend at least $50 to get free shipping, so it makes shopping easy and convenient. This site also has a lot of great features outside of just the clothing including style news, a fashion finder, and an area called “ASOS Marketplace”. Lastly, a feature of the site that I appreciate is that for each clothing item, your able to see one of the models wear the item down a runway so you can see the length, how it moves, and the clothing item in motion on a real person’s body.

2.   Nastygal
Nastygal has been one of my favorite sites for a while now, I actually have a slight obsession with them. On this site, you can find clothing that is vintage inspired with an edgy and contemporary look. Also, instead of like a lot of sites that solely sell clothing from various vendors, Nasty Gal has created their own clothing line that is amazing which features a lot of clothing with dramatic cutouts, with the theme nasty gals do it better.

3.   H&M
H&M has always been a favorite shopping spot of mine. I’ve always enjoyed their clothing because you can find outfits from simply casual to business chic. I also get a lot of accessories from this store because they are low priced and typically last for a long time.

4.   Lulus
Lulus is a wonderful online shop. I gravitate towards this store often for some great shoe finds for an inexpensive price. They also have some great clothing finds, I have found many dresses, tops, and jackets from this site that are wearable for many occasions.

5.    Romwe
I enjoy this site because, like ASOS they have a free shipping policy on all items which is a very easy and convenient feature of the site.  They also have great items for a good price. I love going here for items such as blouses, skirts, and dresses, but they have a good selection of all clothing items one may seek. Accessories and jewelry are also unlimited on this site and this site is a go to place for a quick accessory pick me up.

6.   Zara
I really enjoy shopping at Zara. There are no Zara stores in Michigan, so this store was a recent discovery of mine upon arriving in D.C. I love the sophistication that comes along with a lot of their clothing. I can always find a great cocktail dress, business dress, or a chic outfit from this store.

7.   Topshop
This shop is great.  I often buy a lot of dresses from this store because they truly have dresses for all occasions, ranging from cute minis to a chic shift dress. When shopping on topshop.com, the site is amazingly organized, for example, when looking for a top, you can easily navigate through the area by narrowing your selection from various categories of shirts and this is the case for all types of clothing.

8.   Nordstrom
Nordstrom is a classic favorite store where I’ve shopped with my family members and its become a love of mine. I tend to shop here often when looking for shoes, bags, or accessories. In addition, I tend to visit this store when looking for items such as a nice cardigan, quality jacket, or a dress that can be worn for an upscale occasion. Nordstrom is one of the timeless department stores that won’t be going anywhere.

9.   Urban Outfitters
In high school, Urban Outfitters was always my go to store for anything that I thought would be a different or a unique piece to add to my wardrobe. I have a great love for all things vintage and there are many pieces that can be found at this store that go along with the vintage, urban motif. Urban Outfitters is also a go to place for shoe purchases for myself, it started with my love for sneakers and transitioned to their great flats and chic and edgy heels.

10.                  American Apparel
I think the American Apparel brand is great. They have so many basic pieces that are needed in anyone’s wardrobe: a cute skater dress, fun riding pants, a white tank with a chic cut, and various other impressive items. I also enjoy the well structured, high quality clothing options they offer that have an edgy/casual style. Also I think its great that their clothing can fit those of all sizes and all people can look good in them, and also impressive that when shopping at their online store, you are able to see the clothing on people of all body types to give customers feel of how they would look in the clothing. Lastly, with each clothing item, there is a range of colors to chose from which allows you to truly find the item that you are searching for that fits your specifications.

Merry Christmas to All!

Merry Christmas everyone! Although the day is coming to an end, I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday and were able to enjoy it surrounded by their loved ones. I'm so thankful for my family and the time that I was able to spend with them! I apologize for the fuzzy pics, these were taken on my moms phone and the lighting wasn't too good in the house.

'White Chocolate'

Tis' the season to be jolly fa la la la laaaa. Today is Christmas Eve and I couldn't be happier. I've been able to spend quality time with my family during this time of the year which I think is so important. Today this look was worn to a family brunch at one of my favorite breakfast spots, the Original House of Pancakes. I think that the winter time is a perfect time to mix together different types of materials such as this fur vest paired with the leather pants. Also I love wearing neutral colors in the winter, they compliment the snow and the cold weather so well. Hope everyone is having a great Christmas Eve!

'Let it Snow'

This is the first real snow in Michigan and I'm too excited! I happened to be outside taking the first set of pictures as the snow began falling again and I knew I had to snap a pic of the snow fall in my winter beanie! The snow on the ground really makes it feel like Christmas is right around the corner.

Outfit of the Day:

Changing a simple piece of an outfit can change up the look.  This beanie can be found at H&M.

Dose of Inspiration: Carrie Bradshaw

"I like my money where I can see it ... hanging in my closet" - Carrie Bradshaw

As cliche as it may be, Carrie Bradshaw is truly a fashion inspiration to me. She is the epitome of being elegant, chic, daring, risk taking, and just ahhhhmazzzzingggggg. She is one of the first people that I saw have fun with fashion and showed me that its okay to try something new. From young Carrie during the first season of Sex and the City to the regal beauty in each movie, viewers can count on seeing these show stopping fashion selections.  I can only hope that my closet is half as amazing as hers was on Sex and the City one day.

Blast from the Past

I wanted to make my first post one that displays some of my past outfits. Since my blog is new, I thought it would be good to recap on just a few of my summer/fall outfits so that you can get a little taste of what my personal style is.
