Style Spotlight:Miroslava Duma

On occasion I like to highlight people that I look to for fashion advice and inspiration on a daily basis. I couldn’t help myself so I finally decided to share with you one of my definite favorites, Miroslava Duma. Miroslava Duma is a beautiful fashionista and definitely one of my style icons. This Russian beauty is the former Harper’s Bazaar Russia editor and now works in the realm of web journalism as a freelance writer. She is the founder of www.buro247.ru, an amazing website dedicated to many things including fashion, architecture, music, and style. She is constantly looked upon for having impeccable style for any day and any occasion making countless appearances on blogs and street style articles.  She actually has held the spot of having my laptop or phone background on numerous occasions before I even knew who she was.

There are many things that I love about her style. She really just goes with the flow and is able to put together amazing outfits on a daily basis. In an interview when asked how does she get dressed in the morning, she explained, “Donna Karan once said that if it takes more than 20 minutes to get ready you have some problems with your appearance. I totally agree.” I love how some of her outfit choices promote full ensembles wearing both top and bottom that are of a matching set which many are not able to successfully pull off. She also has a way with mixing together different fabrics, patterns, and designs to create a stylish and sophisticated look. And like myself, she is always willing to throw on a pair of timberland boots and continue about her day. I could honestly go on and on about my love for her and her style but I’ll just let her clothing speak for itself. I end article by saying, if I had to name just one person whose style that I would like to mirror one day, it would be hers.

Black Doesn't have to be Boring

Today was a beautiful day in D.C. This close to 60 degree weather was a great change from our daily 40 degrees chilly days. My friend Jessica and I chose to look for a new place at our University to take my photos and wound up in this spot which was pretty nice because of the bricks and the body of water in the background. I chose to wear this outfit today because I've really be wanting to wear this skirt. Its very reminiscent of a tutu and I love the way it flairs outward. I chose to pair it with a black sparkly fuzzy jumper, knee high socks, and my new studded booties. I've been trying to keep up with New York Fashion Week between my studies and will be doing a post on some of my favorite collections soon. My next few posts are going to be more highlights of my favorite fashionistas and designers that I love.

Until Next Time,

Style Highlight: Grammys 2013

I love award shows because of the beautiful fashion that all of my favorite celebrities and socialites sport down the red carpet. This style moment is to highlight my top 10 favorite fashion choices of the night from both males and females.  I just love to see what these celebrities are going to chose as their final choice on what their perfect look will be for this particular show. I’m always excited to see what those such as Rihanna and JLO have chosen to wear because you can always count on them to show out in a great look and they didn’t disappoint.  This year, the Grammy awards sent out a notice to all celebrity attendees detailing this years dress restrictions, but these beauties were able to follow the
guidelines and still show up and show out! So here are my top 10 choices in no particular order:

50 Shades of Tan

So I finally realized that it has been a whole week since my past ootd post, I'm so sorry! Its so hard being a full time student and still trying to keep up with my blog. My birthday was great but I spent all of last week with the flu which is another reason why I haven't been up to taking any outfit pictures, but i'm feeling much better now. Overall, school has been so busy between classes and extracurriculars but I'll get back to my blogging ways. My friend Sabrina fed into my hat obsession and gave me this lovely hat from Nasty Gal as one of my birthday gifts to add to my collection so I chose to sport it. The weather is so bipolar here in D.C. but it was warm enough for me to just wear my trench on this particular day. I love the blouse I have on in this pic and I'll be sure to post closer pics of it in the future, it was one of my grandmothers favorite shirts as a young lady and she passed it on to me. Don't you just love easy vintage finds like that? My riding pants look a little big reddish in this photo but their more so a brown/burnt orange color. I enjoyed this outfit because it played off of mixing together shades of the tan/brown family.
Hope you enjoy!

As my challenge, Vanessa would like me to write a quick paragraph on my experience as a blogger so here it goes:

My experience as a blogger thus far has been great! I love the response that I have received and its so amazing to know that the people around me, especially at school, check out my blog regularly. Its so cool that I am able to connect with and be able to share ideas with those in areas that I dream of visiting such as London and Italy. I love being able to see how various people all react to one outfit and how clothing really does speak for itself. I began my blog because I've always had the want to display my love for fashion and after reading a few blogs, I knew it was something that I had to get into. There are so many things that I plan to do with my blog that will be upcoming in the near future including features of me styling others for various shoots. I hope to expand on many of my skills such as my photoshop skills so that my posts can be even better for those who enjoy checking out my blog!
