Chanel takes on the American West in Dallas,Texas

In 1957, Coco Chanel visited Dallas,Texas at the invitation of Stanley Marcus leader of Neiman Marcus and immediately fell in love with the city during the post war times when Paris shunned her. For Chanel's Metiers d'Art fashion show this year, Karl Lagerfeld took inspiration from this trip to create this show at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas. Every December for more than a decade, Karl Lagerfeld has picked a city as the theme of the show and Dallas was this years lucky choice. When asked about why he chose this destination he said, "I love Texas. I love Texans. There’s another reason. When Chanel reopened, the French press was beyond nasty. The only press that understood it immediately was the American press, and Neiman Marcus gave her the Oscar for her collection, so I think it’s a nice thing to go there."

This three part spectacular occurring on December 10 featured various celebrities such as Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning, Alexa Chung, and Zoe Kravitz and hosted over 900 guests. The show was said to be "eccentric, fun, and even cowboy chic". The collection connects with many because of the funky fashions that the many who own country homes and ranches will be sure to want said Becca Cason Thrash. These clothes were the fashion epitome of the American West in true form.

Below are some of my favorite looks from the show. I love Native American inspired fashions so many of the looks from this show fit directly with that love. Hope you enjoy.
Until Next Time,
