Stylespiration: Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie is a fashion designer, author, and television personality. Throughout the years, Nicole has become known for her amazing fashion sense and keen eye. Nicole's career began as she starred on the show, The Simple Life, with her long time friend Paris Hilton. This show allowed for Nicole to receive significant media attention and thus truly begin her career. In 2005, Nicole wrote a novel entitled, The Truth About Diamonds which was number 32 on the New York Times Best-Seller List in Hardcover Fiction and in 2010 released another novel, Priceless.

In the fashion arena, Nicole has been the face of Bongo Jeans as well as Jimmy Choo on various advertising campaigns. In October 2008, Richie debuted her jewelry line, House of Harlow1960 and in 2010 was expanded to contain both clothing and shoes. Prior to the expansion of House of Harlow, Nicole joined the maternity store A Pea in a Pod helping to design a line of maternity clothing titled 'Nicole' in 2009.  Also in 2010, Nicole created a women's line titled, Winter Kate. At the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in 2010, she won the 'Entrepreneur of the Year' award for her brand House of Harlow 1960. Due to her immense fashion knowledge and great following in the fashion world, she was given the opportunity to work on the show Fashion Star acting as one of the shows mentors guiding aspiring designers. She continued to expand herself in the world of fashion by launching a collection for Macy's Impulse line in September 2012 and also launched her first frangarence at this same time as well. So as you all can see, she is well versed in all arenas of the fashion industry. Not only is Nicole a style icon, she also is simply hilarious. She recently released a new show entitled, Candidly Nicole which appears on VH1 on Tuesdays. I just began watching the show and she will definitely have you laughing as you watch each episode. In addition to all of these things, Nicole is also a mother of 2 children Harlow and Sparrow and is married to musician Joel Madden.
