Stylespiration: Shiona Turini

Fashion market director, style connoisseur, and HBCU graduate Shiona Turini is definitely one of my stylespirations!  Shiona was born and raised in Bermuda, but always had a love for fashion from a young age. When she graduated from Hampton University, she had absolutely no experience in the fashion industry but she knew NY was the place to be so she made the big leap and moved to the big apple. Her first foot in the door in the industry was a PR internship at Yves Saint Laurent (YSL). Shiona is definitely a bold women who knows what she wants because she appeared at YSL daily although the intern program was already full until they allowed her to stay. She worked with YSL for about a year and was then hired as a PR assistant for the company and from this position her career continued to blossom. After being with YSL for 3 years, she was offered the opportunity to work for W Magazine as an Accessories editor. Although this was a new world for her, she knew that it was time to start branching out in the industry.

At W Magazine, Shiona worked directly with the shoe, handbag, and belt markets as the accessories market editor. After spending time at W, she then moved on to be the accessories director at Teen Vogue still handling the shoe and handbag areas. From Teen Vogue, Shiona made the move to becoming the fashion market and beauty director at CR Fashion Book overseeing all fashion, accessories, and beauty markets for the magazine under the direction of the amazing Carine Roitfeld who left Vogue Paris to begin CR Fashion Book. On top of all of these amazing experiences, she now holds the title of fashion market director at Cosmopolitan. And of course being so major in the industry, she has an AHMAZING collection of shoes that is widely discussed whenever her name is mentioned. Shiona is definitely someone that I look up to in the industry and I love that she is always so personable on her various social media outlets. Here are some pics of her enviable style!
Hope you enjoy!
