Stylespiration: Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Nyong'o is an actress, director, and fashionista all wrapped up in one. She recently came to fame in the United States acting in the movie 12 Years a Slave. Lupita began her career acting as a teen in Kenya. She attended college in Massachusetts attending Hampshire College receiving a degree in film. After receiving her degree, she returned to Kenya and joined the production team for the film, The Constant Gardener. In 2009, she produced and directed the documentary In My Genes. She then starred in the Kenyan TV series, Shuga. Lupita decided to return to the States and in 2012 received a master's degree from the Yale School of Drama. Just a few weeks before receiving her degree, Lupita found out that she had landed a role in the movie, 12 Years a Slave acting as Patsey. For her performance in this film, she won the 2014 Academy Award for best supporting actress amongst many other awards. Lupita can always be seen gracing the red carpet in some fabulous ensemble. She never has an off day or selects the wrong thing to wear and has become known for her fashionista ways in the media.
